Zeche Hugo (DE)

Zeche Hugo is a former coal mine in western Germany Established in 1873 the mine continued to operate until 2000, at which time the coal seam had been almost fully exploited. At it’s height in the 1960’s it employed 5000 and excavated 3.5 millions tons a year. It operated out of 8 shafts and eventually reached a depth of 1200 metres. Continue reading

Power Plant CM / BR (BE)

Power plant CM / BR is located in the northern part of Belgium and is a sister plant to Power Station Maybach the only difference is that CM / BR was a coal and gas powered station and Maybach was gas and fuel oil only this is evident with the clearly visible coal conveyor systems at CM / BR.
