Friesland Military Barracks (DE)

The Friesland barracks in Varel, Germany were used as a home for the Parachute 313 battalion and was abandoned around 2009.

The site is a massive 35 acres and has many buildings for accommodation and various garages, gyms etc. Unfortunately the site is undergoing demolition and most of the buildings are left empty ready for destruction, it would have been some place to explore a few years ago due to the massive size.

At it’s peak capacity in 2007 up to 1060 service personelle could be stationed at the site in Varel.
